Aztec print x brunching

Welcome to another week! Here in the UK we had a bank holiday weekend so today is essentially a Monday. I kicked working week off in style with an awesomely yummy brunch and by digging this fabulously bold Aztec print skirt out the depths of my wardrobe. This is actually a recycled piece from a few seasons ago, which just goes to prove that you should never throw anything out. Ever been told you can’t/shouldn’t wear last season’s trends? Well think again. Bold edgy prints will never be uncool. There is always room to bring out that print that was the thing to wear a few seasons ago and give it a little update.

I paired this skirt from H&M with a simple, classic black vest and loafers combination, then added in some statement jewellery and a Celine luggage bag (one of the It bags of the moment recently and one that has transferred across the seasons, as well as being my absolute favourite tote). These accessories both update a print that is now two or three years old and create a more individual look. Remember, you’ll never stand out wearing all the same trends as everyone else is currently wearing. So if you don’t have the time and energy to devote to being ahead of the trends, or just want to save a little money, then simply reinvent the past … After all, if recycling is good enough for Kate Middleton then it’s good enough for us!

I wore this outfit to brunch with my housemate (and photographer) at a great little place on Fulham Road called Labi’s, followed by a stroll round Parsons Green. I love Labi’s for brunch. Great coffee, teas and juices plus an amazing brunch menu in a nice calm atmosphere where you can actually sit and talk without having to shout to hear each other. Plus the eggs royale are to die for, the hollandaise sauce is just perfection! I thoroughly recommend it if you are ever in the area.

Hope you’ve all had a great start to the week and thanks for stopping by my little corner of the internet. And I’d love to hear your recycling stories, what have you given a make over and re-worn recently?
