Every season there is a new style of bag that appears on the arm of It girls and fashionistas. Spring 2015’s style of choice is the bucket bag. Over the past month it has begun to be ever more prominent on the instagram feeds of those who inspire our fashion choices. It’s distinct shape has a cool retro feel to it that goes equally perfectly with a classic skinny jeans and tee combo or with the 70’s inspired flares that are creeping back into style.
I personally love this shape of bag, it has an air of a carefree backpacker/70’s hippie mixed with elegance about it that makes me want to run out and buy one now then head off exploring. I have spent a fair amount of time internet window shopping looking at the various options and have come up with this list of some of my favourites to fit every budget. Hopefully this will inspire you to go check out this new trend and adopt it into your S/S wardrobe.
Both of these bags are gorgeous. Both come in multiple colours and sizes. If you’re going to invest in a high quality bucket bag either of these would be the way to go. The YSL bag is just fabulous in every way as is to be expected, it maintains a truly classic look about it and I would more than happily carry this on occasion. The Michael Kors Miranda is the surprise of the SS15 season for me. I am not normally a big fan of Michael Kors bags, but this one I love and would definitely be worth the money.
There are some fantastic mid range options out there, both of these will last the test of time and are well made as well as stylish. I have a particular love for Russell & Bromley, their bags are of incredible quality for the price and I would thoroughly recommend them to anyone. This SW Duffel Bag I am in love with, and it could be the one I actually go for in the end. A bit cheaper and more unique is the Zara Croc Bucket bag. The crocodile leather gives it a different look and adds an element of smart work chic to it.
Zara bucket bag (currently on sale) £9.99 down from £39.99
These may not have the same long-lasting quality of the previous four choices, but for a season long It bag then you may not be willing to invest quite so much. Either of these choices will let you sail through Spring 2015 in style. The H&M Duffel Bag comes in two colours and has a great undone look about it that fits perfectly with this trend and at £19.99 it is an absolute bargain. As is the Zara option, grab this one while it remains in stock if you are after this style at a price that won’t break the bank.
I hope this little round-up has inspired you and pointed you in the right direction when it comes to bucket bags.
